Viber introduces – Self Destructive Secret Chats

Today we will talk about Viber’s new feature Self Destructive Secret Chats

You might not have heard of Viber, but it’s one of the world’s biggest messaging apps — more than 800 million registered users worldwide, with strong followings in parts of Asia, Eastern Europe, and Northern Africa. Now, in order to give its customers a little more privacy and security, the company is introducing a new feature named “Self Destructive Secret Chats.”

It allows users to send end-to-end encrypted photos and videos with self-destruct timers to friends. The new feature is quite similar to Facebook Messenger’s Secret Conversations. With ‘Secret Chats’, Viber users can set a time limit for the entire thread, instead of separate messages. It is available for group conversations as well as one-to-one chats.

Not to forget that earlier this year, Viber rolled out “secret messages,” which allow users to set a time limit on individual messages and control how long they are visible to the recipient before they disappear. In 2016, the messaging company also debuted a hidden chat feature allowing users to access their messages through a PIN.
